0 <br />BOX 17 PAGF 969 <br />JOINT MEETING BETWEEN <br />THE <br />LEE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />FOR <br />THE COUNTY OF LEE, STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA <br />AND THE <br />LEE COUNTY BOARD OF EDUCATION <br />V <br />JANUARY 18, 2000 <br />A joint meeting between the Board of Commissioners for the County of Lee, State <br />of North Carolina and the Lee County Board of Education was held in the Gordon A. <br />Wicker Community Conference Room, Lee County Government Center, 106 Hillcrest <br />Drive, Sanford, North Carolina on this date. Commissioners present were W. Chad <br />Adams, F. Hubert Garner, Herbert A. Hincks, Bertha L. Matthews, Nathan E. Paschal, <br />Robert T. Reives, and John L Sauls. County Manager William K. Cowan, County <br />Attorney K. R. Hoyle, and Clerk to the Board Gaynell Lee were also present. School <br />Board members present were Joe Brewer, Ruth Gurtis, Randy Mann, James Womack, <br />and Phil Yarborough. School Superintendent Robert Logan, and School Board Attorney <br />Jimmy Love, Sr. were also present. <br />Chairman Hincks called the meeting to order. <br />School Board Chainnan Randy Mann discussed the Phase 11 Building Plan which <br />included enrollment figures, state statistical data, a new high school, new middle school, <br />and renovations to existing middle schools and high school. <br />Chairman Hincks told the Board that a meeting with the Local Government <br />Commission had been scheduled for January 21, 2000 at 1:30 to discuss a school <br />referendum for the May primary. <br />further business to come before the Board, Chairman Hincks <br />I <br />Herbert A.
