003 <br />600 V PaGF 960 <br />Commissioners to enter into a ten-year lease with the Optimist Club of Sanford, Inc. <br />Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Garner, Hincks, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, and Sauls <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered an appointment to the Census Complete Count Committee. <br />Assistant Community Development Director Trevis Avcrett old the Board that a twelve <br />member committee made up of five appointments from the City of Sanford and Lee <br />County, and two from the Town of Broadway needed to be appointed. Lee County had <br />previously appointed four individuals but still needs one additional appointment. After <br />some discussion, Commissioner Paschal moved to appoint Hubert Garner to this <br />committee. Commissioner Adams moved that nominations be closed. Upon a vote, the <br />results were as follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Garner, Hincks, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, and Sauls <br />Nay: None <br />The Chainnan ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously and <br />Commissioner Garner was appointed to the committee. <br />The Board considered a request to hire a Registered Sanitarian for the Health <br />Department. Health Director Mike Hanes told the Board that in June 1999 the Board <br />approved a request to create a position for a Registered Sanitarian at the Health <br />Department. The Health Department would now like to hire a Registered Sanitarian with <br />ten years of experience to work four days a week and earn ten hours a month annual <br />leave. They are requesting funds for this position to finish this fiscal year in the amount <br />of 513,224.80 for salary and fringes plus 53,000 for equipment. After some discussion, <br />Commissioner Adams moved to approve the hiring of a Registered Sanitarian at four <br />days a week, and to earn ten hours a month annual leave. Upon a vote, the results were <br />as follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Garner, Hincks, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, and Sauls <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board discussed a current interlocal agreement for planning services between <br />the City of Sanford and the County of Lee. No action was taken on the matter. <br />The Board considered the adoption of the 2000-2001 proposed budget procedure <br />calendar.
