Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Garner, Hincks, Matthews. Paschal, Reives, and Sauls <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered meeting dates for the month of March, 2000 due to the <br />NACo Conference that will be held in Washington, DC on March 4-7, 2000. After some <br />discussion, Commissioner Garner moved to cancel the March 6, 2000 meeting and hold <br />only one meeting on March 20, 2000 at 3:00 p.m. Upon a vote, the results were as <br />follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Garner, Hincks, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, and Sauts <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board heard a report from Tax Administrator Roger Kelley concerning the <br />reevaluation process. Mr. Kelley discussed with the Board an updated calendar that <br />showed time lines for completion. No action was taken on the matter. <br />The Board considered entering into an agreement for the purpose of a <br />development ordinance for Sanford, Broadway, and Lee County. County Manager <br />William Cowan asked that the Board consider approving S11,250 for the purpose of <br />contracting with Freilich, Leitner & Carlisle, tne. to develop a unified development <br />ordinance for Sanford, Broadway, and Lee County. These funds, in addition to the <br />$60,000 that was budgeted for this purpose, will provide sufficient funds to develop the <br />ordinance without an adequate public facilities ordinance or zoning maps, which would <br />be produced in-house. The Sanford City Council will also be asked to contribute $11,250 <br />for this project. After some discussion, Commissioner Paschal moved that Lee County <br />enter into an agreement with Freilich, Leitner & Carlisle, Inc. to develop a unified <br />development ordinance for Sanford, Broadway, and Lee County.
