0 0 <br />V P!(;7 :Fioo o O G <br />e~U1 <br />WHEREAS, the bond orders entitled, "BOND ORDER AUTHORIZING THE <br />ISSUANCE OF 525,700,000 SCHOOL BONDS OF THE COUNTY OF LEE" and <br />"BOND ORDER AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE OF 54,3000,000 COMMUNITY <br />COLLEGE BONDS OF THE COUNTY OF LEE," have been introduced at the meeting <br />of the Board of Commissioners held on February 21, 2000 and the Board desires to <br />provide for the holding of public hearings thereon and the submission of a statement of <br />debt in connection therewith as required by The Local Government Bond Act; NOW, <br />THEREFORE, <br />BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners of the County of Lee, as <br />follows: <br />(1) The public hearings upon said bond orders will be held on the 201h day of <br />March, 2000 at 7:00 o'clock, p.m. in Courtroom #4 at the old Lee County <br />Courthouse, 1400 S. Horner Blvd., in Sanford, North Carolina. <br />(2) The Clerk to the Board of Commissioners is hereby directed to cause a <br />copy of each bond order to be published with a notice of each hearing in <br />the form prescribed by law in a qualified newspaper no fewer than six <br />days prior to each public hearing. <br />(3) The County's Finance Officer is hereby directed to file with the Clerk to <br />the Board of Commissioners, prior to publication of the bond orders with <br />the notices of such public hearings, a statement setting forth the debt <br />incurred or to be incurred, the assessed value of property subject to <br />taxation by the County, and the net debt of the County. <br />Commissioner Paschal seconded the motion. Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Garner, Hineks, Matthews, Paschal, and Sauls <br />Nay: Reives <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted by a six to one vote. <br />Commissioner Garner moved to approve the following resolution: <br />WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners of the County of Lee has introduced <br />bond orders authorizing the issuance of 525,700,000 School Bonds and 54,300,000 <br />Community College Bonds and such bond orders, when adopted, and the indebtedness to <br />be incurred by the issuance of such bonds and the tax to be levied for the payment of such <br />bonds will be submitted to the voters of the County at the election to be held on May 2, <br />2000 for their approval or disapproval in order to comply with the Constitution and laws <br />of North Carolina; and <br />6 <br />
