e no , 17 PAGE 996 r1 MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS FOR THE COUNTY OF LEE, STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA FEBRUARY 21, 2000 The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the County of Lee, State of North Carolina, convened at 3:00 p.m. in the Commissioners' Room, 106 Hillerest Drive, Sanford, North Carolina. Commissioners present were W. Chad Adams, F. Hubert Garner, Herbert A. Hincks, Bertha L. Matthews, Nathan E. Paschal, Robert T. Reives, and John L Sauls. Chairman Hincks presided and the following business was transacted. Commissioner Hubert Garner delivered the invocation. Ms. Diane Rainey led the pledge of allegiance. The Board considered additional agenda items. Commissioner Garner asked that the Board consider a proclamation to proclaim April 1, 2000 as Census Day in Lee County. County Attorney K. R. Hoyle asked that the Board consider a matter concerning the Board of Elections. Commissioner Reives moved to add the above items to the agenda. Upon a vote, the results were as follows: Aye: Adams, Garner, Hincks, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, and Sauts Nay: None The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. Commissioner Paschal moved to approve the consent agenda that consisted of the following items: • Minutes of the February 7, 2000 regular meeting • Minutes of the February 4, 2000 Connectivity/Internet Steering Committee meeting • Tax Releases and Refunds for December 1999 (copy attached) • Tax Releases and Refunds for January 2000 (copy attached) • Budget Amendment # 02/2 1/00/11 (copy attached) • Approval of official bonds for the Lee County Finance Director and the Lee County Sheriff
