0 0 <br />BOOK 18 PAGE 05 <br />Municipal Advisors Incorporated $ 29,500 <br />Virginia Beach, Va. <br />Mr. Cowan told the Board that the last reclassification study was completed four years <br />ago and that The Scott Group had completed the previous two studies for the County. <br />After some discussion, Commissioner Adams moved to enter into all agreement with The <br />Scott Group to complete a reclassification study of all Lee County employees, at a cost of <br />515,800. Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Garner, Hincks, Matthews, Paschal, and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />Absent: Sauls <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered lighting for the sign at the entrance to O. T. Sloan Park. <br />Commissioner Adams told the Board that he thought lights needed to be placed on the <br />sign at the entrance to the Park. County Manager William Cowan told the Board that he <br />had requested an estimate from the Public Works Department for installing the needed <br />lighting and lie was told the cost would be approximately $766. After some discussion, <br />Commissioner Adams moved that lights be installed on the sign at the entrance to O. T. <br />Sloan Park. Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Garner, Hincks, Matthews, Paschal, and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />Absent: Sauls <br />The Chainnan ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Commissioner Matthews gave the Board an update from a recent committee <br />meeting concerning a possible ordinance for house numbering in the County. She told <br />the Board that she, Sheriff Billy Bryant, Chief Ronnie Currin, Emergency Management <br />Director Warren Lee, Broadway Mayor Harold Harrington, and Volunteer Fire <br />Department representative Reid Cagle met on March 29, 2000 and discussed the <br />importance of correct and visible house numbers. She told the Board that the committee <br />decided not to recommend an ordinance at this time. She stated that 75-80% of the <br />residents have put up their new house numbers and that the postal service will not deliver <br />mail where numbers are incorrect after June 30, 2000. Mrs. Matthews also discussed <br />other suggestions that the committee had made. She made a motion that when <br />individuals apply for a building permit (new, renovations, additions, etc.) the final <br />approval not be given by the building inspector until 3" house number are placed on the <br />house.
