01)1 <br />acor. 18 PACE 01 <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />OF <br />THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />FOR THE <br />COUNTY OF LEE, STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA <br />MARCH 20. 2000 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the County of Lee, State <br />of North Carolina, convened at 3:00 p.m. in the Commissioners' Room, 106 Hillcrest <br />J Drive, Sanford, North Carolina. Commissioners present were W. Chad Adams, F. Hubert <br />Garner, Herbert A. Hincks, Bertha L. Matthews, Nathan E. Paschal, and Robert T. <br />Reives. Commissioner John 1. Sauls was absent from the meeting. <br />Chairman Hincks presided and the following business was transacted. <br />County Attorney K. R. Hoyle delivered the invocation. <br />Mrs. Brenda White led the pledge of allegiance. <br />The Board considered additional agenda items. Commissioner Matthews asked <br />that the Board consider a Quiz Bowl Grant in the amount of $105.00 to help offset travel <br />expenses for the State competition. Commissioner Matthews also asked that a <br />congratulatory letter be sent to the Lee Senior High School Quiz Bowl Team for winning <br />the local competition. Commissioner Garner moved to add the above items to the <br />consent agenda. Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Garner, Hincks, Matthews, Paschal, and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />Absent: SanlS <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Commissioner Paschal moved to approve the consent agenda that consisted of the <br />following items: <br />• Minutes of the February 21, 2000 regular meeting <br />• Minutes of the January 3, 2000 closed session meeting <br />• Minutes of the January 18, 2000 closed session meeting <br />• Tax Releases and Refunds for February 2000 (copy attached) <br />• FY 2000-2001 Criminal Justice Partnership Program application for <br />continuation of funding <br />
