DOOK ~8 PlGE 45 <br />Commissioner Paschal moved to recess the meeting and go into the Water and <br />Sewer District No. I meeting. Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Garner, Hincks, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, and Sauls <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />After completing business in the Water and Sewer District No. 1 meeting, the <br />meeting recessed until 7:00 p.m. for advertised public hearings. <br />Upon returning at 7:00 p.m. with all members present except Commissioners <br />Matthews and Reives, the meeting resumed. <br />Chairman Hincks called the meeting to order and opened the first public hearing <br />to hear comments from the general public concerning the hiring of a paid employee for <br />the Northview Volunteer Fire Department. The following individuals spoke in favor of <br />the request: <br />Jimmy Bridges, 109 Perkinson Road <br />Bobby Hurley, 289 Cotten Road <br />Roger Millikin, 3304 Hawkins Avenue <br />Ronnie Campbell, 55 Cotten Road <br />Ed Ashburn, 605 Thomas Williams Road <br />No one spoke in opposition to the request. <br />Chairman Hincks closed this public hearing and opened joint public hearings with <br />the Planning Board that had been advertised for this date and time. <br />Assistant Community Development Director Trevis Averett outlined the first <br />petition by Amy Strickland to rezone .73 acres of land at 3236 Hawkins Avenue from <br />Residential Agricultural District to Highway Commercial District. <br />Amy Strickland of 1130 Cotten Road spoke in favor of the request. <br />No one spoke in opposition to the request. Roger Millikin of 3304 Hawkins <br />Avenue and C. M. Wicker of 3232 Hawkins Avenue had questions concerning parking at <br />this location. <br />Mr. Averett outlined the second petition by Richard May to rezone from <br />Residential Agricultural District to Highway Commercial District, approximately three <br />(3) acres of land located at 3015 Jefferson Davis Highway. <br />The following individuals spoke in favor of the petition: <br />4 <br />
