Health Director Mike Hanes asked that the Board consider and approve <br />revised fees and any necessary new fees for his department that will help make their new <br />billing system comparable to the private sector. He told the Board that the State Division <br />of Public Health requested that the revised fees be in place by July 1, 2000. After some <br />discussion, Commissioner Adams moved to approve the revised fee schedule and any <br />necessary new fees for the Lee County Health Department. Upon a vote, the results were <br />was follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Garner, Hincks, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, and Sauls <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered a fuel price adjusument to the Disposal Service Agreement <br />between the County of Lee and Waste Management. County Manager William Cowan <br />told the Board that he had received notification in February of a fuel price increase to the <br />Disposal Service Agreement in the amount of 50.40 per ton. Public Works Director <br />Kenny Cole told the Board that he had reviewed the agreement and Waste Management's <br />calculations, and had determined that the actual increase due to escalating fuel costs <br />should be $0.30 per ton instead of $0.40 per ton. He told the Board that he had discussed <br />this error with Waste Management representatives and they agreed that a mistake had <br />been made in the original calculations, and they would accept the $0.30 per ton increase. <br />As a result, the tipping fee for the disposal of solid waste at the transfer station will <br />increase from S32.81 to $33.11 per ton. Commissioner Paschal moved to approve a fuel <br />price adjustment in the amount of $0.30 per ton. After further discussion, Commissioner <br />Paschal amended his motion to approve the fuel price adjustment in the amount of $0.30, <br />per tone, effective May 1, 2000. County Attorney K. R. Hoyle told the <br />Board that the standard per square foot rate is $8.78 and that the lease may be renewed <br />for a five (5) year term at a rate to be negotiated at the time of renewal. Commissioner <br />Garner moved to approve the Lease for Real Property for the farm service agencies as <br />presented by Mr. Hoyle.
