HnK 48 FACE 67 007 <br />The Chainnan ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Library Director Mike Matochik, Sheriff Billy Bryant, and Chief Pat Garner <br />from the Sanford-Lec County Volunteer Rescue Squad spoke concerning their <br />proposed budgets. <br />The budget work session adjourned at 6:45 p.m. to the old Lee County <br />Courthouse for advertised public hearings. <br />Chairman Hincks opened the public hearing to hear comments concerning the <br />proposed budget for FY 2000/2001. All Commissioners were present except <br />Commissioner Sauls. <br />No one spoke for or against the proposed budget for FY 2000/2001. <br />The second public hearing that had been advertised was for a program <br />amendment to the Lee County FY 1999 Community Development Block Grant <br />(CDBG) program. Jessie Miars from Holland Consulting Planners told the Board that a <br />public hearing must be held if there was a change in the program of more than 10%. <br />She told the Board that eight (8) homes were in the original project, two (2) participants <br />have declined participation, one (1) home is now vacant, and three (3) participants have <br />relocated. Ms. Miars asked that the Board add four (4) additional units to the project, <br />one each on Cotton Road, Dycus Road, Minter School Road, and Union Drive in <br />Broadway for a total cost of $66,000. <br />No one spoke for or against the program change for the FY 1999 Community <br />Development Block Grant (CDBG) program. <br />Commissioner Paschal moved to add 566,000 to the rehabilitation line item and <br />proceed with the four new projects listed above. Upon a vote, the results were as <br />follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Garner, Hincks, Matthews, Paschal, and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />Absent: Sauls <br />The Chainnan ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Planner Althea Thompson outlined the third and final public hearing request <br />concerning a petition by Joseph Gregory Stone to rezone from Residential Restricted <br />District to Residential Agricultural District, approximately 1.89 acres of land 400 feet <br />north of the intersection of Branch Road and Forestwood Park Road. <br />The following individuals spoke in favor of the petition: <br />7 <br />
