001 <br />BOX 1$ PACE 79 <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />OF <br />THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />FOR THE <br />COUNTY OF LEE, STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA <br />JUNE 5, 2000 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the County of Lee, State <br />of North Carolina, convened at 8:00 a.m. in the Commissioners' Room, 106 Hillcrest <br />Drive, Sanford, North Carolina. Commissioners present were W. Chad Adams, F. Hubert <br />Garner, Herbert A. Hincks, Bertha L. Matthews, Nathan E. Paschal, Robert T. Reives, <br />and John I. Sauls. <br />Chairman Hincks presided and the following business was transacted. <br />Commissioner Chad Adams delivered the invocation. <br />Warren Lee led the pledge of allegiance. <br />The Board considered additional agenda items. Commissioner Garner moved to <br />approve the agenda as presented. Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Garner, Hincks, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, and Sauls <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Commissioner Paschal moved to approve the consent agenda that consisted of the <br />following items: <br />• Minutes of the May 15, 2000 regular meeting <br />• Budget amendment # 06/05/00/19 (copy attached) <br />• Resolution of support for the creation of the Department of Juvenile Justice <br />and Delinquency Prevention (copy attached) <br />• Consolidated contract between the State of North Carolina and the Lee <br />County Health Department for the purpose of maintaining and promoting the <br />advancement of health in North Carolina <br />• Approval of additional surplus items for auction <br />• Proclamation to declare the week of June 4-10, 2000 as "Hurricane <br />Awareness and Prepm•edness Week" in Lee County (copy attached) <br />Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />
