Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Garner, Hincks, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, and Sau1S <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered a contract agreement between the Lee County Health <br />Department and Jason Drew Clark, D.D.S. Health Director Mike Hanes told the Board <br />that the Health Department wished to enter into an independent contractor agreement <br />for dental services with Dr. Jason Drew Clark for the period of June 20, 2000 to June <br />30, 2001. Commissioner Adams moved to approve the independent contractor <br />agreement between the Lee County Health Department and Jason Drew Clark, D.D.S. <br />Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Garner, Hincks, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, and Sauls <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered the Rural Operating Assistance Program (ROAP) from <br />the North Carolina Department of Transportation. Senior Services Director Debbie <br />Davidson told the Board that a public hearing was required on this matter before an <br />application could be submitted. She told the Board that this program from the North <br />Carolina Department of Transportation provides funding for the Elderly and Disabled <br />Transportation Program, Work First/Employment Transportation Program, and the <br />Rural General Public Transportation Program. The total grant that will be allocated to <br />Lee County for FY 2000-2001 is 567,371. <br />Commissioner Reives moved to open the public hearing. Upon a vote, the <br />results were as follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Garner, Hincks, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, and Sauls <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Senior Services Director Debbie Davidson spoke in favor of the application. <br />No one spoke in opposition to the application. <br />Chairman Hincks closed the public hearing. <br />5 <br />
