0 0 7 <br />br,,o iS `r1,6E 151 <br />Chairman Hincks closed the public hearing. <br />Commissioner Matthews moved to approve an application to request funds from <br />the Local Law Enforcement Block Grants Program. Upon a vote, the results were as <br />follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Garner, Hincks, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, and Sanls <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered incentive funds for a project involving the Lee County <br />Economic Development Corporation and Imperial Freezer Services. Economic <br />Development Director Bob Heats told the Board that Imperial Freezer Services is <br />expanding its facility on US Highway 421 North. Their investment will be at least <br />$3,000,000.00. Under the existing incentive policy, Lee County's share of the incentives <br />is S49,063.00 and the City of Sanford's share is $37,288.00. It is proposed that the <br />incentives be paid out in three (3) installments beginning on July 31, 2002. <br />Chairman Hincks opened the public hearing that had been advertised for this date <br />and time. <br />Economic Development Director Bob Heats, representing the Lee County <br />Economic Development Corporation, spoke in favor of the incentive request. <br />No one spoke in opposition to the incentive request. <br />Chairman Hincks closed the public hearing. <br />Commissioner Garner moved to enter into an incentive agreement between the <br />Lee County Economic Development Corporation and Imperial Freezer Services, <br />contingent upon approval by the Sanford City Council for its portion of the incentive <br />request. Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Garner, Hincks, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, and Sauls <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered a proposed agreement between the Lee County Economic <br />Development Corporation and American Cyanamid Company. Economic Development <br />Director Bob Heats told the Board that the County had previously agreed to fund <br />incentives in the amount of $690,336.00 for a S47,500,000.00 expansion project for <br />American Cyanamid. American Cyanamid has changed its plans and in lieu of the prior <br />arrangement, it proposes to make a $120,000,000.00 investment in renovating and <br />7 <br />
