BGQK 18 P!CE A i 0 0 2 Commissioner Garner moved to approve the consent agenda that consisted of the following items: • Minutes of the July 10, 2000 regular meeting • Tax Releases and Refunds for June 2000 (copy attached) • Surplus 1992 Dodge COLTS van and dispose of through the surplus property auction in Raleigh • Budget Amendment # 08/14/00/02 (copy attached) • Renewal agreement for the Beaver Management Assistance Program • Resolution for the Lee County Jaguars 12 and under boys basketball team • Resolution for the Carolina Heart 11 and under AAU girls basketball team • Acceptance of a donation of a "VideoEye" magnification system to the Lee County Library from the Sanford Lions Club • Acceptance of a grant to the Sheriff's Department from the Department of Justice for mobile data terminals in the amount of 529,269.50 • Approval for the Sheriffs Department to apply to the Bureau of Justice Assistance, Local Law Enforcement Block Grant program • Resolution for Community Health Center Week (copy attached) • Authorization for the Library to accept three free Lexmark 5000 color inkjet printers • Authorization for the Library to apply for a Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation grant • Approve bids from R. W. Moore Equipment Co., Inc. for purchase of a new 2000 four-wheel drive backhoe/loader and a new 2000 four-wheel drive bucket loader for the Solid Waste Division • Budget Amendment # 08/14/00/03 (copy attached) Upon a vote, the results were as follows: Aye: Adams, Gamer, Hineks, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, arid Sauls Nay: None The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. The Board considered a draft of a new county seal. Public Works Director Kenny Cole was directed at a previous meeting to work on a revised draft for a new county seal using the same design as the county flag. He presented three different color schemes for the Board to consider. After some discussion, Commissioner Garner moved to approve a new county seal, based on the county flag, with white lettering on a navy background and gold border, a copy of which is attached to these minutes and by this reference made a part hereof.
