BGQK 18 P!CE A i 0 0 2 <br />Commissioner Garner moved to approve the consent agenda that consisted of the <br />following items: <br />• Minutes of the July 10, 2000 regular meeting <br />• Tax Releases and Refunds for June 2000 (copy attached) <br />• Surplus 1992 Dodge COLTS van and dispose of through the surplus property <br />auction in Raleigh <br />• Budget Amendment # 08/14/00/02 (copy attached) <br />• Renewal agreement for the Beaver Management Assistance Program <br />• Resolution for the Lee County Jaguars 12 and under boys basketball team <br />• Resolution for the Carolina Heart 11 and under AAU girls basketball team <br />• Acceptance of a donation of a "VideoEye" magnification system to the Lee <br />County Library from the Sanford Lions Club <br />• Acceptance of a grant to the Sheriff's Department from the Department of <br />Justice for mobile data terminals in the amount of 529,269.50 <br />• Approval for the Sheriffs Department to apply to the Bureau of Justice <br />Assistance, Local Law Enforcement Block Grant program <br />• Resolution for Community Health Center Week (copy attached) <br />• Authorization for the Library to accept three free Lexmark 5000 color inkjet <br />printers <br />• Authorization for the Library to apply for a Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation <br />grant <br />• Approve bids from R. W. Moore Equipment Co., Inc. for purchase of a new <br />2000 four-wheel drive backhoe/loader and a new 2000 four-wheel drive <br />bucket loader for the Solid Waste Division <br />• Budget Amendment # 08/14/00/03 (copy attached) <br />Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Gamer, Hineks, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, arid Sauls <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered a draft of a new county seal. Public Works Director Kenny <br />Cole was directed at a previous meeting to work on a revised draft for a new county seal <br />using the same design as the county flag. He presented three different color schemes for <br />the Board to consider. After some discussion, Commissioner Garner moved to approve a <br />new county seal, based on the county flag, with white lettering on a navy background and <br />gold border, a copy of which is attached to these minutes and by this reference made a <br />part hereof.
