EGOX 17 PAGE 992 143 <br />MINUTES OF THE MEETING <br />OF THE <br />LEE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />IN ITS CAPACITY AS THE GOVERNING BODY <br />OF THE <br />LEE COUNTY WATER AND SEWER DISTRICT NO. I <br />NOVEMBER 15, 1999 <br />.1/ <br />A meeting of the governing body of the Lee County Water and Sewer District No. <br />1 was held in the Commissioners' Room, Lee County Government Center, 106 Hillerest <br />Drive, Sanford, North Carolina, immediately following the regular meeting of the Lee <br />County Board of Commissioners held on said date. Commissioners present were W. <br />Chad Adams, F. Hubert. Garner, Herbert A. Hincks, Bertha L. Matthews, Nathan E. <br />Paschal, Robert T. Reives, and John I. Sauls. <br />Chairman Hincks presided and Gaynell M. Lee, Clerk to the Board of <br />Commissioners acted as Secretary of the meeting. <br />Commissioner Adams moved to approve the consent agenda as printed, which <br />consisted of the following item: <br />• Minutes of the October 4, 1999 meeting <br />Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Garner, Hincks, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, and Sauls <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Public Works Director Kenny Cole gave the Board an update on the Phase 11 <br />Water Project. He told the Board that eight public meetings have been conducted, 916 <br />customers have signed up for water taps, and that volunteers are going door -to -door to <br />assist with obtaining additional sign -ups for the project. He also discussed with the <br />Board the possibility of extending the $75 sign -up period until December 31, 1999. After <br />some discussion, Commissioner Paschal moved to extend the $75 sign -up period for the <br />Phase 11 Water Project through December 31, 1999. Upon a vote, the results were as <br />follows: <br />
