® 105 <br />Bdcr 17 P -cu 837 <br />MINUTES OF THE MEETING <br />OF THE <br />LEE COUNTY BOARD OF CONMSSI0NERS <br />IN ITS CAPACITY AS THE GOVERNING BODY <br />OF THE <br />LEE COUNTY WATER AND SEWER DISTRICT NO. 1 <br />AUGUST 23, 1999 <br />A meeting of the governing body of the Lee County Water and Sewer District No. <br />1 was held in the Commissioners' Room, Lee County Government Center, 106 Hillcrest <br />Drive, Sanford, North Carolina immediately following the regular meeting of the Board <br />on this date. Commissioners present were W. Chad Adams, F. Hubert Garner, Herbert A. <br />Hincks, Bertha L. Matthews, Nathan E. Paschal, Robert T. Reives, and John I. Sauls. <br />J Chairman Hincks presided and Cheryl F. Morris, Acting Clerk to the Board of <br />Commissioners acted as Secretary of the meeting. <br />Commissioner Adams moved to approve the items on the consent agenda as <br />presented which consisted of the following: <br />• Minutes of the July 16, 1999 meeting were approved <br />• Resolution of appreciation to Jackie McLamb was adopted (attached hereto <br />and made a part of these minutes) <br />Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Garner, Hincks, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, and Sauls <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered approval of a policy regarding dry tap customers. There <br />are approximately 200 dry tap customers within the Water District, some of whom are <br />not paying their monthly bills. In a memorandum from Kenny Cole, Public Works <br />Director, to Bill Cowan, County Manager, Mr. Cole recommended that the current Dry <br />Tap Policy be revised as follows: <br />• Pay minimum bill up to -$650.00 <br />• Pay for service to be removed -$350.00 <br />Once maximum bill has been reached <br />• Pay for servicing account -$125.00 <br />For that time period ($3 /mth/account) <br />
