LEE COU"NTY <br />Committed Today for a Better Tomorrow <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />OF THE <br />LEE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />106 HILLCREST DRIVE <br />SANFORD, NORTH CAROLINA 27330 <br />JUNE 19, 2017 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the County of Lee, State of <br />North Carolina, convened at 6:00 P.M. in the Commissioners Room, First Floor, Lee <br />County Government Center, 106 Hillcrest Drive, Sanford, North Carolina, on said date. <br />Commissioners present when the meeting was called to order were Amy M. Dalrymple, <br />Kevin C. Dodson, Dr. Andre Knecht, Larry "Doc" Oldham, Robert T. Reives, Cameron W. <br />Sharpe, and Timothy S. Sloan. <br />Ms. Mikayla Comer from the Lee County Young Commissioners Program called the <br />meeting to order. <br />Commissioner Dalrymple delivered the invocation. <br />The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. <br />A group picture of the Young Commissioners and the Lee County Board of <br />Commissioners was taken at this time. <br />Chair Dalrymple resumed the Chair duties at this time and the meeting continued. <br />I. INTRODUCTION OF THE 2017 LEE COUNTY "YOUNG COMMISSIONERS" <br />LEADERSHIP PROGRAM PARTICIPANTS <br />Cooperative Extension Director Bill Stone stated that this was the fifth session of the <br />Lee County Young Commissioners Program, which consists of an intensive two-week <br />summer youth program comprised of students in grades 9-11. Addison Woody, a 4-H <br />Young Commissioner member, addressed the Board and briefly shared his experiences <br />with the Young Commissioners Program related to civic engagement and local <br />government. Addison will be the 4-H youth representative at the 2017 North Carolina <br />Association of County Commissioners meeting in Durham August 11-12. No action was <br />taken. <br />Page 119 <br />
