developments, and does not have the resources to complete updates to this property, thus <br />is now asking the County for reimbursement for $40,000.00 it paid for the property. Ms. <br />Parrish stated that in after looking at the deed and resolution, the Sanford Housing <br />Authority does not have the right to sell the property and in fact the property would revert <br />to the County at which point, the County can dispose of the property either through a <br />negotiated price or through an upset bid process. Commissioner Reives stated that when <br />the property reverts to the County, the County should pass it on to the City for the <br />homeless project to maintain its public purpose as the County's contribution toward the <br />homelessness effort. Commissioner Reives moved to transfer the property located at Lots <br />55 and 56 on Linden Avenue to the City and/or a non-profit for the homeless task force. <br />Upon a vote, the results are as follows: <br />Aye: Dalrymple, Dodson, Knecht, Oldham, Reives, Sharpe, Sloan <br />Nay: None <br />The Chair ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Request to Assign Foreclosure Bid at 1401 Bovkin Avenue. Sanford. Lee Countv. NC <br />County Attorney Whitney Parrish stated that the property located at 1401 Boykin <br />Avenue, Sanford NC went to foreclosure sale on May 26, 2017.The County and City were <br />the highest bidders on the property having bid an amount of $3,813.96. Lawrence <br />Jennings has approached the County to ask if the County would assign its bid to him. If the <br />County chooses not to assign its bid, the foreclosure sale will be finalized in September. <br />Mrs. Parrish stated that once the foreclosure sale is finalized, the property can go through <br />the upset bid process, which is the action the Commissioners have taken in the past. <br />Commissioner Reives moved to approve the property located at 1401 Boykin Avenue to go <br />through the upset bid process. The County and City are <br />the highest bidders on the property having bid an amount of $5,430.55. Phyllis Johnson <br />has approached the County to ask if the County would assign its bid to her. If the County <br />chooses not to assign its bid, the foreclosure sale will be finalized in September. Mrs. <br />Parrish further stated that once the foreclosure sale is finalized, the property can go <br />through the upset bid process, which is the action the Commissioners have taken in the <br />past. Commissioner Sharpe moved to approve the sale of the property located on Ashe <br />Street upon the recommendation of counsel through the upset bid process as per the <br />Board's precedent.
