At this time, Chair Darlymple took a moment to introduce Beth List as the new Lee <br />County Library Director. <br />IV. PUBLIC COMMENTS <br />Pursuant to General Statute § 152A-52.1, Chair Dalrymple opened the floor for <br />Public Comments. The following person signed up to speak and was permitted 3 <br />minutes for comments: <br />- Mark Coggins, 3909 Hunt Springs Drive, Sanford, NC (Downtown Sanford & <br />Jonesboro) <br />V. OLD BUSINESS <br />Recommendation from the Planning Board Regarding Rezoning Request for 5105 & 5108 <br />Rex McLeod Drive. 5167 & 5618 Clyde Rhyne Drive and Two Adioining Lots within the Lee <br />County Industrial Park <br />Marshall Downey, Director of Planning and Community Development, stated that an <br />application was submitted from property owners in the Lee County Industrial Park to <br />rezone multiple parcels of property to rezone from Light Industrial to Heavy Industrial. The <br />first application was from Charles Leuth of Luther/Leuth Property Management requesting <br />to rezone one 6.36+ acre tract of land addressed as 5108 Rex McLeod Drive and identified <br />as tax parcel 9645-65-9437-00. The second application was by PCC Airfoils, Inc. to rezone <br />one 20.59+ acre tract of land addressed as 5105 Rex McLeod Drive and identified as tax <br />parcel 9645-65-3424-00. The third application was by STI Polymer, Inc. to rezone one <br />12.82 + acre tract of land addressed as 5618 Clyde Rhyne Drive also identified as tax <br />parcel 9645-55-7201-00. The fourth application was submitted by Nobile Oil Services, Inc. <br />to rezone three tracts of land totaling 29.56+ acres. One lot is addressed as 5617 Clyde <br />Rhyne Drive and the other two lots are vacant. The subject property is identified as tax <br />parcels 9645-45-9484-00, 9645-55-9906-00, and 9645-66-1232-00. A public hearing was <br />held on July 17, 2017. The Lee County Planning Board has reviewed the request and is <br />now recommending the adoption of the request to the Board of Commissioners. <br />Commissioner Reives moved to approve the Lee County Planning Board's <br />recommendation to amend the official zoning map of Lee County, North Carolina, a copy <br />of the ordinance amending the zoning map is attached to these minutes and by this <br />reference made a part hereof. Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Dalrymple, Dodson, Knecht, Oldham, Reives, Sharpe, Sloan <br />Nay: None <br />The Chair ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Recommendation from the Lee County Planninq Board Regarding a UDO Text <br />Amendment Related to "Urban Beekeeping" <br />Marshall Downey, Planning and Community Development Director, presented a <br />recommendation from the Lee County Planning Board for a text amendment to the Unified <br />Development Ordinance, Article 4 Permitted Use Matrix, to add "Urban Beekeeping" as a <br />Page 4112 <br />
