Board Appointments
Clerk to the Board Jennifer Gamble provided six applications for the Board's
consideration for appointments to the Sanford Planning Board, Americans with Disabilities
Act Board, Agriculture Advisory Board, and Joint Sanford -Lee County Environmental
Affairs Board. The Board placed their votes by ballot with the appointment results being as
follows:
Sanford Planning Board
Robert Smith
Ed Ashburn
Americans With Disabilities Act Committee
- Charles Hannah
Agriculture Advisory Board
- Mary L. Whitaker
Joint Sanford -Lee County Environmental Affairs Board
- Gabby Murillo
Request from the Citv of Sanford for a Conveyance of Property Located on Wicker Street
(PIN 9642-26-8439-00) for the expansion of the Medical Mile Greenway
County Manager John Crumpton provided the Board with a request from the City of
Sanford for the conveyance of property located on Wicker Street across from Kiwanis
Family Park for the expansion of the Greenway Project. The Medical Mile Greenway will
follow the creek from Kiwanis Family Park on Wicker Street all the way to Carthage Street.
The project will bid in October of this year with construction scheduled to start in the Spring
of 2018. Easement acquisition for the entire project will begin in about a month. There is a
sewer easement cutting through the parcel now and the proposed greenway will follow the
easement. By the time the project is finished, most of the parcel will be impacted, thus staff
is recommending that the property be conveyed to the City and that the City keep the
value offered for the easement for additional greenway construction. Commissioner
Oldham moved to approve the conveyance of the property to the City of Sanford. Upon a
vote, the results were as follows:
Aye: Dalrymple, Dodson, Knecht, Oldham, Reives, Sharpe, Sloan
Nay: None
The Chair ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously.
Budget Amendment #08/21/17/01
Finance Director Lisa Minter presented the following appropriations for the Board's
consideration:
- Health Promotion —To appropriate $3,810 in additional funds awarded by the State
for the Healthy Communities Program.
- Recreation — to rollover funds for various unfinished projects and restricted
donations.
Page 10112
