Commissioners present were W. Chad Adams, F. Hubert <br />Garner, Herbert A. Hincks, Bertha L. Matthews, Nathan E. Paschal, Robert T. Reives, <br />and John 1. SauIS. <br />Chairman Hincks presided and the following business was transacted. <br />County Attorney K. R. Hoyle delivered the invocation. <br />Albert Cox led the pledge of allegiance. <br />The Board considered additional agenda items. Commissioner Garner asked that <br />the Board consider a resolution at the next meeting honoring retired Judge William <br />Clu-istian for his years of dedicated service to Lee County. Commissioner Matthews <br />asked that discussion concerning a rental policy for the new McSwain Extension and <br />Agriculture Center be tabled until the October 16, 2000 meeting. Commissioner Paschal <br />asked that the Board discuss a noise issue concerning guns. Chairman Hincks stated that <br />the proclamation for 4-H Week would be presented under new business instead of on the <br />consent agent as printed. Commissioner Adams moved to approve the agenda with the <br />above changes. Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Garner, Hincks, Matthews, Pascal, Reives, and Sauls <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Commissioner Paschal moved to approve the consent agenda that consisted of the <br />following items: <br />• Resolution recognizing the 75`x' anniversary of the chartering of the Kiwanis <br />Club of Sanford (copy attached) <br />• Addition/abandonnrent of the following roads to the North Carolina State <br />Maintained System <br />
