nox 18 P'GF tiff;;,;'. <br />~4 r <br />of <br />T4v V>er CJaunt-q c4gnttrd of CITnmmissioners <br />~RESttfufian <br />WHEREAS, on September 29, 2000, Southern Correctional Institution, North Carolina <br />Department of Correction, located in Troy, North Carolina, donated to Lee County Emergency <br />Management and the Lee County Chapter of the American Red Cross, 1000 blankets, 440 <br />children's sleeping bags, 440 pillows, 500 bed sheets and <br />100 stuffed animals; and <br />WHEREAS, these items were hand made by inmates in the Blanket Recovery Program, <br />under the supervision of Correctional Officer Michael McIntyre; and <br />WHEREAS, these items will be used to provide comfort to those citizens who seek <br />refuge in emergency public shelters that might be opened in Lee County. <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners for Lee <br />County as follows: <br />Section 1. The Board of Commissioners for Lee County hereby expresses its <br />sincere appreciation to Correctional Officer Michael McIntyre and the inmates in the Blanket <br />Recovery Project at Southern Correctional Institution for the donated blankets, sleeping bags, <br />pillows, sheets, and stuffed animals. <br />Section 2. That a copy of this resolution be presented to Correctional Officer <br />Michael McIntyre. <br />Section 3. That this resolution be made a part of the minutes of the October 16, <br />2000 meeting. <br />Adopted this 160i day of October 2000. <br />Herbert A. Hincks, Chairman <br />
