'r, EP arrun#g Ocarbi of CITammissiourrs <br />~Resalutivn <br />WHEREAS, the Honorable William Alexander Christian, a resident of Lee County, <br />retired as Chief District Court Judge for the Eleventh Judicial District on October 1, 2000; and <br />WHEREAS, prior to his service in the judicial branch, Judge Christian served as an <br />Assistant District Attorney in the Eleventh Judicial District for two years; and. <br />WHEREAS, following his appointment to the bench, Judge Christian served as a District <br />Court Judge for ten years; and <br />:j WHEREAS, following his appointment as Chief District Judge for the Eleventh Judicial <br />District by Governor James B. Hunt, Jr., in 1988, he has served continuously in that capacity until <br />his retirement; and <br />I: <br />WHEREAS, in addition to his judicial duties, he serves on the North Carolina Courts <br />Commission, on the Board of Directors of the Boys & Girls Club of Sanford/Lee County, as a <br />member of the North Carolina Custody Mediation Advisory Committee and is a past president of <br />the conference of Chief District Court Judges. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, Be It Resolved by the Board of Commissioners of Lee County <br />that it commends Judge William Alexander Christian for his long and meritorious service in the <br />judicial branch of state government and wishes for him a long, pleasant, and enjoyable retirement. <br />Presented this 160i day of October 2000. <br />Z/ <br />Herbert A.
