6GOX 18 PAGE 2 `J <br />The Board considered an appointment to the Lee County Juvenile Crime <br />Prevention Council. Adult and Youth Services Director Randell Woodruff recommended <br />to the Board that Margaret Clouter be appointed to represent the District Attorney's <br />Office. Commissioner Reives moved to accept by acclamation the appointment of <br />Margaret Clouter to the Lee County Juvenile Crime Prevention Council. Upon a vote, <br />the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Garner, Hincks, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, and Sauls <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted Unanimously. <br />The Board considered an appointment to the Americans with Disability Act <br />(ADA) Committee. Chairman Hincks told the Board that Sylvia Womble had contacted <br />him and was interested in serving on this committee. Commissioner Reives moved to <br />accept by acclamation the appointment of Sylvia Womble to the Americans with <br />Disability Act (ADA) Committee. Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Garner, Hincks, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, and Sauls <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered an appointment to the Triangle J Council of Governments <br />Appearance Committee. Chairman Hincks told the Board that he had been contacted by <br />Triangle J concerning an appointment to the Appearance Committee that was established <br />in 1986 to coordinate and improve the aesthetics of the six county region that includes <br />Chatham, Durham, Johnston, Lee, Orange, and Wake. Numerous projects have been <br />undertaken and completed throughout the years and several have received state and <br />national acclaim. The goal of Triangle J is to continue these projects and to expand the <br />involvement of local appearance commissions, governments, private industry, and the <br />General public in order to strengthen the number and scope of firture projects. <br />Commissioner Paschal moved to appoint Solid Waste Superintendent Joe Cherry to serve <br />on this Committee. Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Garner, Hincks, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, and SarIIS <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Department heads John Hall, Brenda Potts, and Ron Satterfield gave oral <br />presentations to the Board concerning activities in their departments. <br />Chairman I-iineks recessed the meeting and moved that the Board go into the Lee <br />Cormty Water and Sewer District No. 1 meeting.
