Commissioners present were W. Chad Adams, F. Hubert Garner, Herbert A. Hincks, Bertha L. Matthews, Nathan E. Paschal, Robert T. Reives, and John 1. Sauls. Chairman Hincks presided and the following business was transacted. Rev. Jack Hunter delivered the invocation and led the pledge of allegiance. The Board considered additional agenda items. Cormty Manager William Cowan asked that the Board consider the employment of a new 4-H Agent at the Cooperative Extension Office. Commissioner Matthews moved to approve the agenda with the above addition. Upon a vote, the results were as follows: Aye: Adams, Gamer, Hincks, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, and Sauls Nay: None The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. Commissioner Garner moved to approve the consent agenda that consisted of the following items: • Minutes from the October 16, 2000 regular meeting • Minutes from the September 20, October 2, and October 16, 2000 closed sessions • Tax Releases and Refunds for September 2000 (copy attached) • Acceptance of expansion funds from the North Carolina Department of Juvenile Justice & Delinquency Prevention in the amount of $8,537 for Youth Services • Approval to hire an Education Coordinator at Youth Services • Approval to hire a Nursing Supervisor at the Lee County Health Department • Budget amendment # 11 /06/00/08 (copy attached)
