Committed Today for a Better Tomorrow RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE SALE OF PROPERTY LOCATED AT 1909 CARR CREEK DRIVE PIN 9661-781100-00 IN SANFORD, NORTH CAROLINA WHEREAS, the County of Lee own certain property located at Lot 21 Sec 11 1909 Carr Creek Drive, Carr Creek Neighborhood, PIN 9661-78-1100-00, Sanford Lee County as shown on a deed recorded in Deed Book 1366 Page 829 in the office of the Register of Deeds for Lee County, to which the record thereof reference is hereby made for more complete description; and, WHEREAS, North Carolina General Statutes §§ 153A-176 and 160A-269 permit the county to sell property by upset bid, after receipt of an offer to purchase the property; and, WHEREAS, to facilitate the sale of jointly owned property, the City of Sanford conveyed such property to the County of Lee, as shown on a deed recorded in Deed Book Page in the office of the Register of Deeds for Lee County; and, WHEREAS, the County of Lee proposes to dispose of the above described property on behalf of both the City and County as it is surplus to our needs; and, WHEREAS, the amount of taxes and fees owed on the property is $25,619.28 and the taxable value of the property is $10,000.00; and, WHEREAS, the County received an offer submitted by Lillie and Ricarte Bradley ("Offerors"), to purchase the property described above in the amount of $500.00 plus any advertising costs; and, WHEREAS, Offerors paid to the County Clerk the required 5 percent (5%) deposit on their offer plus advertising costs; and, WHEREAS, at its regular meeting on June 5, 2017, the Lee County Board of Commissioners accepted the offer of $500.00 and such offer was advertised in The Sanford Herald on August 30, 2017; and, WHEREAS, no further upset bids were received during the 10 -day upset bid period, and the original offer from Mr. and Mrs. Bradley is the final and highest bid received. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Lee County Board of Commissioners as follows: 1. The Lee County Board of Commissioners hereby accepts the offer of $500.00 from Lillie and Ricarte Bradley.
