BOX i8 PIOE 26 <br />G0 <br />CCCC Board of Trustees had requested a meeting of the two Boards to discuss the legal <br />commitment from the County for the $2,500,00 that will be needed to receive recently <br />approved State bond money. After much discussion, Commissioner Adams moved to <br />cancel the regular meeting scheduled for December 18, 2000 and hold it special dinner <br />meeting on that date at 5:00 p.m. with the CCCC Board of Trustees at the Dennis <br />Wicker Civic Center. Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Hincks, Lemmond, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, and Sauls <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Commissioner Matthews moved that a letter be sent to the Department of <br />Transportation requesting a traffic study for the intersection of Frank Wicker Road and <br />Swann Station Road. Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Hincks, Lemmond, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, and SaLlls <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board held it public hearing that had been advertised to hear comments <br />concerning the purchase of various items for the Sheriffs Department with finds <br />acquired through the Local Law Enforcement Block Grants Program. Captain James <br />Estes went over the list of items to be purchased. He told the Board that the grant funds <br />would total 516,979, with a county match of 51,887, creating a total project cost of <br />518,866. Joel Lemmond from the Sanford Fire Department spoke in favor of the grants <br />program. <br />No one spoke in opposition to the program. <br />Commissioner Lemmond moved to approve the purchase of items outlined by <br />Captain Estes with funds from the Local Law Enforcement Block Grant. Upon a vote, <br />the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Hincks, Lemmond, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, and Sauls <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted Unanimously. <br />Chairman Hincks recessed the regular meeting at this time to go into the Water <br />& Sewer District No. 1 meeting. After completing business in the Water & Sewer <br />District No. I meeting, the regular meeting resumed. <br />Commissioner Reives left the meeting at this time. <br />5 <br />
