Mr. Kelley told the Board that after a very in-depth look <br />into the needs and costs of equipment and software, he was requesting $71,073.82 to <br />purchase required hardware and software. After some discussion, Commissioner Adams <br />moved to approve 571,073.82 for the purchase of hardware and software for the new <br />Land Records Office. Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Hincks, Lemmond, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, and Sauls <br />Nay: None <br />The Chaimlan ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Commissioner Lemmond moved that the Board request the North Carolina <br />Department of Transportation to conduct traffic studies at the intersection of US 421 <br />North and Cunmock Road and US #1 South and McDaniels Road (Tramway <br />community). Upon a vole, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Hincks, Lemmond, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, and Sauls <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board heard an update from Alltel representative Tony Thomas concerning <br />Lee County's internet/intranet project. Mr. Thomas told the Board that Lee Comity <br />should be on line with intranet and web site service by early June. No action was taken <br />on the matter. <br />Chairman Hincks declared a five-minute recess at this time. Upon returning from <br />recess with all members present, the meeting resumed. <br />The Board considered a proposed budget calendar for FY 2001/2002. <br />Commissioner Matthews moved to approve the budget calendar as presented. Upon a <br />vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Hincks, Lemmond, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, and Sauls <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered a request to split the cost for facilitator services for the <br />Advisory Committee for School Facilities. Commissioner Adams told the Board that Dr. <br />Ron Shearon from NC State University has agreed to serve as the facilitator for this <br />committee at a cost of 53,500.00.
