goox 1~ Fa~~ 300 <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />OF THE <br />BOARD Ol' COMMISSIONERS <br />FOR THE <br />COUNTY OF LEE, STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA <br />MONDAY, FEBRUARY 5, 2001 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the County of Lee, State <br />of North Carolina, convened at 8:00 a.m. in the Commissioners' Room, Lee County <br />Government Center, 106 Hillcrest Drive, Sanford, North Carolina. Commissioners <br />present were W. Chad Adams, Herbert A. Hincks, Jerry M. Lenmmond, Bertha L. <br />Matthews, Nathan E. Paschal, Robert T. Reives, and John I. Sanls. <br />Chairman Herb Flincks delivered the invocation. <br />Tommy Mani, Sr. led the pledge of allegiance. <br />The Board considered additional agenda items. <br />Commissioner Paschal asked that the Board discuss renaming the old Lee County <br />Annory in memory of Bobby E. Hales. Commissioner Lemmond asked that the Board <br />get an update from the North Carolina Department of Transportation concerning an <br />emergency light at the intersection of US #1 and McDaniels Drive in the Tramway <br />community. County Manager William Cowan asked that the Land Use Audit Report be <br />removed from the agenda. Commissioner Adams moved that the agenda be approved <br />with the above changes. Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Hincks, Lemmond, latthews, Paschal, Reivcs, and Sauls <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Commissioner Paschal moved to approve the consent agenda, which consisted of <br />the following items: <br />• Minutes of the January 16, 2001 regular meeting <br />• Acceptance of $5,000 from the State to the JIIVenlle Crime Prevention Council <br />• Budget amendment # 02/05/01/12 (copy attached) <br />• Approval to receive a 510,000 reimbursable grant in the Health Department to <br />support the Lee County Action Network <br />0 _L <br />
