Ci l vox 18 P.,ct: 311 MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL AND REGULAR MEETINGS OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS FOR THE COUNTY OF LEE, STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA FEBRUARY 19, 2001 A special luncheon meeting between the of the Board of Commissioners for the County of Lee, State of North Carolina and State legislative delegates, convened at 12:00 noon on this date at W. B. Joyce's Restaurant, 808 Spring Lane, Sanford, North Carolina. Commissioners present were W. Chad Adams, Herbert A. Hincks, Jerry M. Lemmond, Bertha L. Matthews, Nathan E. Paschal, and John I. Sauls. Commissioner Robert T. Reives was absent. Legislative delegates present were Representative Leslie Cox, Representative Don Davis, and Senator Oscar Harris. Senator Ellie Kinnaird and Senator Howard Lee were absent. Chairman Hincks called the lunch meeting to order. The Commissioners discussed with legislators the current state budget as it relates to Lee County and concerns they have over more than S500,000 in cuts expected this year. Commissioners urged legislators to consider giving counties some flexibility in handling non-funded state mandated programs.- Delegates told the Commissioners at the conclusion of the luncheon that they would be looking at every item in the budget to see if areas or programs could be cut. The meeting recessed until 3:00 p.m. The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the County of Lee, State of North Carolina, convened at 3:00 p.m. in the Commissioners' Room, Lee County Government Center, 106 Hillcrest Drive, Sanford, North Carolina. Commissioners present were W. Chad Adams, Herbert A. Hincks, Jerry M. Lemmond, Bertha L. Matthews, Nathan E. Paschal, and John I. Sauls. Commissioner Robert T. Reives was absent. Chairman Hincks called the meeting to order. County Attorney K. R. Hoyle delivered the invocation. Darryl Davis led the pledge of allegiance. Commissioner Reives joined the meeting at this time.
