PUBLIC NOTICE CITY OF SANFORD, THE TOWN OF BROADWAY AND LEE COUNTY Notice is hereby given that . • the City of Sanford, the Town of Broadway and Lee County will each conduct a public hearing regarding po- tential amendments to the jointly adopted Unified De- velopment Ordinance (UDO). - The public hearings will be conducted for consideration of the following.amend - ments: Multiple amendments to Sections 3.2.3.3 and 3.2.3.4 in order to include the fol- lowing additional require- ments for certain additions/expansions to ex- Isting buildings or changes of use. Add reference language to clarify that all new or ex- panded off - street parking ar- eas_ shall be paved in accor- dance with Sect. 8.2.6:1.Add reference language to clarity that those projects that are fronting on a highway corri- dor as defined in Section 10.7 of the UDO shall be ret- rofitted to conform to all de- sign standards of ;hat sec - tion.Add reference language • _ to clarity that all outdoor solid waste disposal areas shall be screened in accor- dance with Section 10.1 of the UDO. An amendment to Section 4.7.3.2 to clarify hove the front setback is measured for each street frontage for lots with multiple street frontages. The amendment clarifies that all street front- ages will be required to meet a front yard setback. An amendment to Section 5.20.2.4 to revise the solid waste landfill standards to require that all access to a public road for a proposed .landfill shall conform to the minimum construction/de- sign standards of the appro- priate public works agency or NCDOT, whichever has jurisdiction. An amendment to Section 6.7.1:4 to increase the mini- mum size of cul -de -sacs from the current standard radius of 40 foot pavement width/45 foot right -of -way to a new radius of 45 foot pave- ment width/50 fool right -of -way. The increase in size is in response to the increased size of our local fire department's emergency response vehicles and their need to be able turnaround in cul -de -sacs. An amendment to Section 10.7.2.3 to clarify that certain roadway segments that par. allel the U.S. 1 right -of -way shall be subject to the corri- dor overlay design stan- dards as set forth in Section 10.7. The roadway seg- ments identified include those portions of Beechtree Drive, Charleston Drive, McNeill Road, Douglas Drive, Tiffany Drive, Legion Drive, Westover Drive, and Keller- Andrews Road that parallel the U.S. 1 right -of -way. Each of the jurisdictions will conduct a public hearing on the amendments as de-_ scribedabove. The follow- ing are the specific details for each of the hearings. The hearing will. begin at 7;00 p.m. or as soon thereafter as deemed Practical by the City Council Upon request and with 24 -hour notice, the City will provide an interpreter for the hearing impaired or any other type of auxiliary aid.
