I <br />No one spoke in opposition to the request. <br />Chairman Hincks closed the public hearing. <br />Commissioner Lemmond moved to approve the lease of the above mentioned <br />County property to The Lee County Arts and Community Center, Inc. for a term of 50 <br />years. Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Hincks, Lemmond, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, and SanIS <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unaninmously. <br />Chairman Hincks opened joint public hearings as advertised with the Lee County <br />Planning Board. <br />Planner Althea Thompson addressed amendments to the Lee County Zoning <br />Ordinance for the addition of new sections that will establish "Buffering and Screening" <br />requirements between different land uses and "Scenic Corridor" requirements along <br />major highway corridors. <br />The following individuals spoke in favor of the amendments: <br />Carl Woodard, Carolina Trace <br />John Daniel, 2250 Cape.lasmine Drive <br />George Tetlow, 4035 Timber Wolf Circle, Carolina Trace <br />No one spoke in opposition to the amendments. <br />Mrs. Thompson outlined the second public hearing for a petition by Reginald <br />Williams to rezone from Residential Restricted District to Residential Agricultural <br />District, approximately 3.83 acres of land at 3429 Cotton Road. <br />Mr. Reginald Williams of 3349 Cotton Road spoke in favor of the rezoning <br />request. <br />No one spoke in opposition to the request. <br />Mrs. Thompson outlined the third and final public hearing for a petition by <br />Jimmy Carter to rezone from Residential Restricted District to Residential Agricultural <br />District, 2.01 acres located off Highway 87 South northwest of the property located at <br />5120 and 5124 Highway 87 South. <br />Mr. Jimmy Carter of 5171 Highway 87 South spoke in favor of the petition. <br />No one spoke in opposition to the request. <br />7 <br />
