County Attorney K. R. Hoyle <br />stated that there is nothing in the current Lee County Zoning Ordinance that pertains to <br />this matter. Community Development Director Ron Satterfield told the Board that the <br />Planning Board would consider creating an "appearance/overgrown lots" section in the <br />current ordinance. He stated that this would also address the problem of the <br />accumulation of trash, tires, garbage, etc. and would be similar to the ordinance that the <br />City of Sanford has. <br />The Board considered recommendations from the Planning Board. Planner <br />Althea Thompson told the Board that the Planning Board recommended approval of a <br />new section in the Lee County Zoning Ordinance that would establish "Buffering and <br />Screening" requirements between different land uses and "Scenic Corridor" requirements <br />along major highways. After some discussion, Commissioner Adams moved to approve <br />the recommendation of the Planning Board with the stipulation that no buffer would be <br />required in the Class IV Land Use Classifications unless approved by the Planning Board. <br />Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Hincks, Lenunond, Matthews, Paschal, Rcives, and SaLlls <br />Nay: None <br />2 <br />
