Human <br />Resource Director Patsy Rogers presented the proposed policy to the Board and <br />answered questions. After some discussion, Chairman Hincks moved to defer <br />consideration of the policy until the May 21, 2001 meeting. Upon a vote, the results <br />were as follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Hincks, Lemmond, Matthews, Paschal, and Sauls <br />Nay: None <br />Absent: Reives <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Community Development Director Ron Satterfield gave the Board an update on <br />the five-acre subdivision ordinance that the Planning Board is currently working on. <br />Jean Moore, representative from the San-Lee Humane Society spoke to the <br />Board concerning a bill for reclamation of animals (pit bulls) owned by Mr. Gaston <br />Williams. She explained in detail many of the hardships the Humane Society <br />experienced during the time the animals were in their care, and some of the <br />communication problems between their agency, the Animal Control Office, and the Lee <br />County Sheriff's Department. She stated that additional staff and volunteers, along <br />with board members were called in after hours to assist with the situation. The grand <br />total for Mr. Williams's bill from the San-Lee Humane Society for the care of his <br />animals was $2,085.00.
