Upon a vote, the results were as <br />follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Hincks, Lemmond, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, and Sauls <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered health insurance renewal for county employees. Taylor <br />Uzzell of BEC presented to the Board proposals for health insurance coverage for the <br />next fiscal year. He told the Board that our current carver CIGNA offers a better renewal <br />option than any of the other quotes received. Mr. Uzzell stated that after additional <br />negotiations, CIGNA had lowered their premium quote by an additional 4%. After much <br />discussion, Commissioner Adams moved to approve the "Select and Secure" plan with <br />CIGNA, which has slightly lower benefits, and would reduce the Lee County budget by <br />5113,724. Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Lemmond, Paschal, Reives, and Sanls <br />Nay: Hincks and Matthews <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted by a five to two vote. <br />The Board took a ten-minute recess at this time. Upon returning from recess with <br />all members present, the meeting resumed. <br />Commissioner Adams moved to go into the Lee County Water & Sewer District <br />No. 1 meeting. Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Hincks, Lemmond, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, and Sauls <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />After completing business in the Water & Sewer District No. 1 meeting, <br />Commissioner Adams moved to go out of the Water & Sewer District No. 1 meeting. <br />Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Hincks, Lemmond, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, and Sauls <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />County Manager William Cowan presented to the Board his proposed FY 2001- <br />2002 budget.
