Department of Juvenile Justice & Delinquency Prevention funding <br />request & Program Agreement for Lee County for Youth Services <br />• County Funding Plan for the FY 2001/2002 Home and Community Care <br />Block Grant for Senior Services <br />• Resolution opposing changes to Veterans Day (copy attached) <br />• Budget Amendment # 05/07/01/18 (copy attached) <br />• Approval for the destruction of records in the Finance Office <br />Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Hincks, Lemmond, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, and Sauls <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Dr. Marvin Joyner, President of Central Carolina Community College and Landis <br />Phillips, Emergency Services Training Director gave the Board an update on the new <br />Emergency Services Training Center located at the old Lee County Airport. <br />School Superintendent Robert Logan presented the 2001-2002 Lee County Board <br />of Education's budget to the Board. No action was taken on the matter. <br />The Board considered recommendations from the Planning Board. Planner <br />Althea Thompson told the Board that the Planning Board recommended approval of the <br />petition by Humberto Cabrera to rezone from Residential Restricted District to Highway <br />Commercial District, one tract of land (.98 acres) located at 4525 NC 87 Hwy. South. <br />Commissioner Reives moved to approve the recommendation of the Planning Board. <br />Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Hincks, Lemmond, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, and Sauls <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Mrs. Thompson told the Board that Mr. Jimmy Christopher of Ferrellgas had <br />withdrawn his petition to amend a Light Industrial Conditional Use Permit issued on <br />November 4, 1991, for the property located at 2913 Jefferson Davis Highway. <br />Mrs. Thompson told the Board that the Planning Board recommended approval to <br />extend Garner Road (SR 1317) approximately 0.38 miles and to add this extension to the <br />State Highway System for maintenance. Commissioner Reives moved to approve a <br />resolution requesting the addition of 0.38 miles of Garner Road be added to the State <br />Maintained Secondary Road System, a copy of which is attached to these minutes and by <br />this reference made a part hereof.
