sooK 2:3 fAU 536 <br />LEE COUNTY <br />Committed Today for a Better Tomorrow <br />JOINT MEETING <br />OF THE <br />LEE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />LEE COUNTY ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION <br />SANFORD CITY COUNCIL <br />AND <br />BROADWAY TOWN COMMISSIONERS <br />McSWAIN EXTENSION EDUCATION & AGRICULTURE CENTER <br />2420 TRAMWAY ROAD <br />SANFORD, NORTH CAROLINA 27330 <br />NOVEMBER 17, 2010 <br />A special called meeting of the Lee County Board of Commissioners, Lee County Economic <br />Development Corporation, Sanford City Council and Broadway Town Commissioners convened at 6:30 <br />p.m., Wednesday, November 17, 2010, at the McSwain Education & Agriculture Center located at 2420 <br />Tramway Road, Sanford, North Carolina. Commissioners present were Amy M. Dalrymple, Richard B. <br />Hayes, Larry "Doc" Oldham, and Nathan E. Paschal. Commissioners James C. Kelly, Robert T. <br />Reives, and Linda A. Shook were absent. Commissioners elect Charlie T. Parks and James K. <br />Womack were also present. <br />Mr. Tommy Mann, Chairman of the Lee County Economic Development Corporation called the <br />meeting to order. <br />Chairman Richard Hayes called the meeting to order for the Lee County Board of <br />Commissioners, who had a quorum present. <br />Mayor Donald Andrews called the meeting to order for the Broadway Town Commissioners, <br />who had a quorum present. <br />The City of Sanford did not have a quorum present. <br />The purpose of the meeting was to comply with a revised agreement adopted by the four <br />Boards earlier in the year in reference to economic development reporting. This was the second <br />quarterly meeting held to help improve communication between the Boards. <br />County Manager John Crumpton gave an update on the purchase of the old Trans -Matic <br />building located at the Lee County Industrial Park. Mr. Crumpton stated that the County currently has <br />made an offer to purchase the 30,000 square foot facility that will be used as a training facility for <br />Central Carolina Community College and to house the Lee County Economic Development office. Also <br />4,000 -5,000 square foot sections of the building will be used as incubators for small businesses wishing <br />to start a business. All paperwork for the purchase will be finalized on Friday, November 19, 2010. <br />
