Chairman Hincks opened public hearings that had been advertised for this day and time, to hear comments concerning two economic development incentives with GKN Precision Forming and Wyeth Lederle Vaccines. Economic Development Director Bob Hems told the Board that Lee County proposes to participate in the cost of an economic development project with the Lee County Economic Development Corporation for the expansion of a manufacturing facility by GKN Precision Forming. The 30,000 square feet expansion of the building, improvements and equipment, will be an investment of at least $26,000,000.00. The Board of Commissioners is being asked to consider sharing up to $393,825.00 of the cost of site preparation with revenues coming from the Lee County General Fund. No one other than Mr. Hems spoke in favor of the project. No one spoke in opposition to the project. Chairman Hincks closed the public hearing for GKN Precision Forming.
