Upon a vote, the results were as <br />follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Hincks, Lemmond, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, and Sauls <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Chairman Hincks moved to accept the above nominations to the steering <br />committee for the Greenwood Small Area Plan. Upon a vote, the results were as <br />follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Hincks, Lemmond, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, and Sauls <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Chairman Hincks opened public hearings that had been advertised for this day <br />and time, to hear comments concerning two economic development incentives with <br />GKN Precision Forming and Wyeth Lederle Vaccines. Economic Development <br />Director Bob Hems told the Board that Lee County proposes to participate in the cost of <br />an economic development project with the Lee County Economic Development <br />Corporation for the expansion of a manufacturing facility by GKN Precision Forming. <br />The 30,000 square feet expansion of the building, improvements and equipment, will be <br />an investment of at least $26,000,000.00. The Board of Commissioners is being asked <br />to consider sharing up to $393,825.00 of the cost of site preparation with revenues <br />coming from the Lee County General Fund. <br />No one other than Mr. Hems spoke in favor of the project. <br />No one spoke in opposition to the project. <br />Chairman Hincks closed the public hearing for GKN Precision Forming. <br />Chairman Hincks opened the public hearing for the Wyeth Lederle Vaccines, as <br />advertised.
