Chairman Hincks opened joint public <br />hearings with the Lee County Planning Board that had been advertised for this date and <br />time. <br />Planner Althea Thompson told the Board that Charles Brown had filed a petition <br />to rezone from Highway Commercial Conditional Use District to Residential Mixed <br />District, a 100x 650lot located at 304 Country Estates Drive. <br />No one spoke in favor of or in opposition to the request. <br />Mrs. Thompson outlined the next rezoning petition by Ralph Spencer Smith to <br />rezone from Residential Restricted District to Highway Commercial District, <br />approximately 95 acres of land at 628 Amos Bridges Road and 95 acres of land at 632 <br />Amos Bridges Road. <br />No one spoke in favor of or in opposition to the request. <br />Commissioner Sauls expressed concerns he had pertaining to the recently adopted <br />ordinance for buffering requirements. The Planning Board was asked to study this <br />ordinance and report back to the Commissioners at a later time. <br />Mrs. Thompson outlined a rezoning petition by Jimmy Christopher of Ferrellgas <br />to rezone from Light Industrial-Conditional Use District to Highway Commercial <br />District, a 139.61' x 170' lot at 2913 Jefferson Davis Highway. <br />No one spoke in favor of or in opposition to the request. <br />Mrs. Thompson outlined the last petition by Lynwood Coombs to rezone from <br />Residential Mixed District to Highway Commercial Conditional Use District, <br />approximately .61 acres of land located at 1458 Pine Forest Road and 276 Christine <br />Road. The request also includes an amendment to a Conditional Use Permit approved on <br />January 4, 1999. Mrs. Thompson told the Board that in December 1999, a 1.06 acre lot at <br />1426 Pine Forest Road was rezoned to Highway Commercial Conditional Use District <br />and a Conditional Use Permit was issued to Mr. Coombs for an automobile repair shop. <br />The Department of Transportation acquired a large portion of Mr. Coombs lot due to the <br />realignment of Rocky Fork Church Road for the US #1 widening project. This <br />acquisition included the area on which Mr. Coombs repair shop is located, and he must <br />move the metal building. <br />G05 <br />5 <br />
