U nK 18 mF 441 MINUTES FROM THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS FOR THE COUNTY OF LEE, STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA JUNE 18, 2001 The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the County of Lee, State of North Carolina, convened at 1:00 p.m. in the Commissioners' Room, Lee County Government Center, 106 Hillerest Drive, Sanford, North Carolina. Commissioners present were W. Chad Adams, Herbert A. Hincks, Jerry M. Lemmond, Bertha L. Matthews, Nathan E. Paschal, and John 1. SauIS. Commissioner Robert T. Reives was absent. Rev. Delores Washington delivered the invocation and led the pledge of allegiance. The Board considered additional agenda items. County Manager William Cowan asked that the Board hold a closed session to discuss the acquisition of real property at the corner of Steele and Wicker Streets. Commissioner Matthews moved to approve the addition of the above item to the agenda. Upon a vote, the results were as follows: Aye: Adams, Hincks, Lemmond, Matthews, Paschal, and Sauls Nay: None Absent: Reives The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. 0101- Commissioner Paschal moved to approve the consent agenda, which consisted of the following items: • Minutes of the June 5, 2001 regular meeting • Tax Releases and Refunds for May 2001 (copy attached) • Contract for substance abuse treatment services with Lee-Harnett Mental Health for the Lee-Harnett Criminal Justice Alliance Program for FY 2001- 2002 • Acceptance of Governor's Crime Commission Grant for the Lee-Hamett Criminal Justice Alliance • Program agreement revision for Lee County Youth Services • Budget amendment 9 06/18/01/921 (copy attached)
