bGM. J8 ME 48r (10 <br />The Board considered funding for the Sanford-Lee County Volunteer Rescue <br />Squad. Commissioner Matthews moved to appropriate 518,000 to the Sanford-Lee <br />County Volunteer Rescue Squad for operating expenses. After some discussion, <br />Commissioner Matthews withdrew her motion. After further discussion, Chairman <br />Hincks moved to appropriate 55,000 to the Rescue Squad, asked that they petition the <br />City of Sanford for a match to the County's contribution, and submit an audit report to <br />the Lee County Finance Officer. The Board also requested that if the Rescue Squad <br />wishes to receive funding from the County in the future, a budget request must be <br />forwarded to the County Manager during the budget process. Upon a vote, the results <br />were as follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Hincks, Lemmond, Matthews, Paschal, and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />Absent: Sauls <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered recommendations from the Planning Board. Planner <br />Althea Thompson told the Board that the Planning Board recommended approval of the <br />petition by Charles Brown to rezone from Highway Commercial Conditional Use <br />District to Residential Mixed District, a 100' x 650' lot located at 304 Country Estate <br />Drive. Commissioner Reives moved to approve the recommendation of the Planning <br />Board. Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Hincks, Lemmond, Matthews, Paschal, and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />Absent: Sauls <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Mrs. Thompson told the Board that the Planning Board recommended approval <br />of the petition by Jimmy Christopher of Ferrellgas to rezone from Light Industrial- <br />Conditional Use District to Highway Commercial District, a 22,202 square foot lot at <br />2913 Jefferson Davis Highway. Commissioner Reives moved to approve the <br />recommendation of the Planning Board. Mrs. Matthews stated that Ms. Simpson wished to place a <br />mobile home on property adjacent to her home for additional income. Plainer Althea <br />Thompson told the Board that in 1990 when the County adopted countywide zoning, the <br />5 <br />
