He further told the Board that costs to advertise legal notices in the <br />local newspaper are approximately $125.00 to $150.00 for each Planning Board or <br />Board of Adjustment case, and the increase would help with advertising fees. After <br />much discussion, Commissioner Reives moved to table the matter until the July 23rd <br />meeting so planning staff could supply more information. Upon a vote, the results were <br />as follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Hincks, Lemmond, Matthews, Paschal, and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />Absent: Sauls <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered a matter pertaining to the new Lee County Industrial Park. <br />Economic Development Director Bob Heuts told the Board that a public hearing had <br />been held on June 18th to hear comments concerning a project to participate in the <br />construction of infrastructure to support an Industrial Park along US I from Womack <br />Road to Colon Road. He stated that the project would include approximately 450 acres <br />of land. He told the Board that the first phase of the project would be the construction of <br />a sewer system, then the construction of a road from Colon Road to Womack Road, and <br />finally the construction of a water line, as needed. He also stated that the estimated cost <br />for the project would be $2.7 million. He further stated that funding for the project <br />would come from the county, but also be returned to the county as development fees <br />were paid to use the system. County Manager William Cowan discussed with the Board <br />various options that could be used to fund the project. After much discussion, <br />Commissioner Adams moved to approve debt service of $1,886,000 in water obligation <br />bonds for the purchase of infrastructure for sewer lines and road development at the <br />proposed new Lee County Industrial Park.
