Public Works Director Kenny Cole told the Board that the City of Sanford has <br />notified him that they will be increasing fees for shop labor and parts markup beginning <br />October 1st He told the Board that the Fleet Maintenance Superintendent was <br />recommending an increase from $49.00 per hour to $57.00 per hour for labor, and an <br />increase from 20% to 30% mark up for parts. He further stated that there had been no <br />increase in fees since 1998. After some discussion, Commissioner Paschal moved to <br />approve the above increase. Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Hineks, and Paschal <br />Nay: Lemmond, Matthews, and Reives <br />Absent: Sauls <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had failed. <br />Commissioner Reives asked that Mr. Cole check with the automotive repair class <br />at Central Carolina Community College to see if they could assist the Comity with any <br />repairs. <br />The Board considered an adjustment for fees in the Planning Department. <br />Community Development Director Ron Satterfield recommended increasing application <br />fees associated with conventional rezoning requests, conditional use rezoning requests, <br />special use requests, variance requests, and appeals from the zoning enforcement officer. <br />His recommendation was to increase the current fee on all of the above requests from <br />3 <br />
