If adopted, the Deep River Small Area Plan would take precedence over the <br />Sanford & Lee County 2020 Lane Use Plan. He told the Board that the Planning Board <br />recommended approval of the Deep River Small Area Plan. Deep River Small Area Plan <br />committee members Jamie Teel and Hubert Garner spoke in favor of the plan. After <br />some discussion, Commissioner Paschal moved to approve the recommendation of the <br />Planning Board. Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Hincks, Lemmond, Matthews, Paschal, and Sauls <br />Nay: Reives <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted by a six to one vote. <br />The Board considered recommendations from the Planning Board concerning <br />several items. Planner Althea Thompson told the Board that the Planning Board <br />recommended approval to amend the County's Zoning and Subdivision Ordinances by <br />reducing the 3-acre minimum lot size currently required on an easement to the minimum <br />lot size required by the respective zoning districts (30,000 square feet in RR, 40,000 <br />square feet in RA and RM). After some discussion, Commissioner Adams moved to hold <br />a public hearing on August 20, 2001 concerning this amendment. Upon a vote, the <br />results were as follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Hincks, Lemmond, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, and Sauls <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Mrs. Thompson told the Board that the Planning Board recommended approval to <br />amend the County's Zoning and Subdivision Ordinances to exclude parcels of land over <br />10 acres in size in the definition of a "got". After some discussion, Commissioner Adams <br />moved to leave the Zoning and Subdivision Ordinance at it currently is. Upon a vote, <br />the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Hincks, Lemmond, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, and Sauls <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Mrs. Thompson told the Board that it was the consensus of the Planning Board to <br />not change the current regulation concerning the number of lots allowed on an easement. <br />5 <br />
