0 <br />0 KJX I8 r cF 5~ <br />i! 3 <br />After further discussion, it was the general consensus of the Board to discuss this <br />matter again, along with the Lee County Zoning Ordinance, at the next meeting on <br />August 20, 2001. <br />Commissioner Reives discussed the tennis courts located at Dalrymple Park. <br />Parks and Recreation Director John Payne told the Board that no one uses this court <br />because it is in bad shape. After sonic discussion, Commissioner Reives asked Mr. <br />Payne to discuss this matter with the Parks and Recreation Commission and report back <br />to the Board at the next meeting on August 20th. <br />Commissioner Matthews questioned Community Development Director Ron <br />Satterfield concerning the new fee schedule for inspections. Mr. Satterfield was asked to <br />discuss this matter at the next meeting on August 20th. <br />The Board considered a resolution and stipulation for selection of a mediator for <br />legal proceedings between the Lee County Board of Commissioners and the Lee County <br />School Board. County Attorney K. R. Hoyle told the Board that he and Attorney Jimmy <br />Love, Sr. have selected Attorney John B. McMillan as the mediator for the budgetary <br />dispute between the two boards. Chairman Hincks moved to approve the following <br />resolution and stipulation: <br />BE IT RESOLVED by the Lee County Board of Commissioners as follows: <br />1. The chairman is hereby authorized and directed to execute and deliver for <br />and on behalf of the board the following stipulation which document is <br />incorporated herein by this reference. <br />2. The Finance Officer is authorized to pay the board's proportionate share of <br />the mediator's compensation and expense upon receipt of an invoice or <br />purchase order approved by the County Manager. <br />STIPULATION <br />It is stipulated by the parties as follows: <br />1. The boards jointly select as mediator John B. McMillan, Attorney at Law, of <br />the fine of Manning, Fulton & Skimmer, P.A., Raleigh, N.C. <br />2. The working groups designated in N.C. Gen. Statute 115C-431 are <br />empowered to represent their respective boards during the mediation. <br />3. The boards agree that mediation may continue beyond August 1, 2001, and <br />that the next scheduled meeting will be held Monday, August 13, 2001. <br />4. The boards shall share equally the mediation compensation and expenses <br />which shall be determined according to the rules adopted under Chapter 7A <br />of the North Carolina General Statutes. <br />3 <br />
