eoo; 18 DICE 517 <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The board held a public hearing and considered a revised Solid Waste <br />Management Plan Update. Public Works Director Kenny Cole and Solid Waste <br />Superintendent Joe Cherry told the board that in June 2000, a ten-year comprehensive <br />solid waste management plan was approved and sent to the North Carolina Department of <br />Environment and Natural Resources. Mr. Cherry was notified of several minor changes <br />that needed to be made to the plan. Chairman Hincks opened the public hearing that had <br />been advertised for this date and time. Mr. Cole and Mr. Cherry spoke in favor of the <br />revised plan. No one spoke in opposition to the plan. Chairman Hincks closed the public <br />hearing and Commissioner Adams moved to approve the revised addendum, as <br />presented, a copy of which is attached to these minutes and by this reference made a part <br />hereof. Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Hineks, Lemmond, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, and Sauls <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The board considered a Technology Use Policy for Lee County employees. MIS <br />Director Lesa Price asked that the board consider a policy to reduce the County's liability <br />as an employer, for an employee's unprompted activity and to balance the needs and <br />responsibilities of employees with the County's technology use requirements. After <br />some discussion, Commissioner Lemmond moved to approve the Technology Use <br />Policy, contingent upon review by all department heads. Upon a vote, the results were as <br />follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Hincks, Lemmond, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, and Sauls <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Mrs. Price gave the board an update on the current County connectivity project. <br />No action was taken on the matter. <br />Chairman Hincks awarded Finance Director Lisa Minter with a Certificate of <br />Achievement for Excellence from the Government Finance Officers Association for <br />financial reporting for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2000. <br />The board considered General Obligation Refunding Bonds for Lee County. <br />County Attorney K.
