0 6COn J8 ME 515 ® 003 <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Mr. Satterfield discussed with the board a request to increase application fees for <br />rezoning requests, special use requests, and variance requests from $50.00 to 5150.00 per <br />request. Commissioner Sauls moved to approve an increase in fees from 550.00 to <br />$150.00. After some discussion, Commissioner Sauls withdrew his motion. After further <br />discussion, the board decided to wait until after the public hearing on September 17th to <br />act on this matter. <br />City Inspector Robert Privott and County Inspector Travis Phillips discussed <br />inspection fees and answered questions from various board niembers._ _ <br />The board considered a revised contract between the City of Sanford and the <br />County of Lee for vehicle maintenance. Public Works Director Kenny Cole told the <br />board that the City of Sanford wished to increase vehicle maintenance rates from $49.00 <br />per hour to $57.00 per hour, and parts mark-up from 20% to 30%. Mr. Cole told the <br />board that he had obtained rates from various private garages that ranged from $40.00 per <br />hour to $58.00 per hour and parts park-up from 25-40%. He told the board that he had <br />contacted the automotive department at Central Carolina Community College and was <br />told that they would not be able to handle the entire county fleet because they were only a <br />"training facility." After some discussion, Commissioner Sauls moved to approve the <br />revised contract between the City of Sanford and the County of Lee for vehicle <br />maintenance. Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Hincks, Paschal, and Sauk <br />Nay: Lenunond, Matthews, and Reives <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted by a four to three vote. <br />The board considered recommendations from the Planning Board. Planner Althea <br />Thompson told the board that the Planning Board recommended approval of the petition <br />by Phillip Dale McKinney to rezone .92 acres of land at 2848 Jefferson Davis Highway. <br />Commissioner Matthews moved to approve the recommendation of the Planning Board. <br />Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Hincks, Lemmond, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, and SaLdS <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Mrs. Thompson told the board that the Planning Board recommended approval of <br />the petition by Larry Roberts to rezone 8.09 acres of land at 6659 and 6679 Highway 87 <br />South.
