nox 3S P-cF 537 <br />® G2 <br />LEE COUNTY <br />RESOLUTION TO APPROVE THE ADDENDUM TO THE <br />LEE COUNTY SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT PLAN UPDATE <br />WHEREAS, better planning for solid waste will help protect public health and the <br />environment, provide for an improved solid waste management system, better utilize our <br />natural resources, control the cost of solid waste management; and <br />WHEREAS, North Carolina General Statute 130A-309.09A(b) requires each unit of <br />local government, either individually or in cooperation with other unites of local <br />government, to update its ten-year comprehensive solid waste management plan every <br />three years; and <br />WHEREAS, Lee County approved the update to its tcn-year comprehensive solid waste <br />management plan on June 19, 2000; and <br />WHEREAS, Lee County has added an addendum to its ten-year comprehensive solid <br />waste management plan update based on comments from the State of North Carolina <br />Department of Environment and Natural Resources. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the County Commissioners of Lee <br />County hereby approve the addendum to the Lee County Solid Waste Management Plan <br />update. <br />Adopted by the Lee County Board of Commissioners during a regular meeting held on <br />the 20`h day of August 2001. <br />Herbert A.
