Former <br />Commissioner Hubert Garner presented the resolution to Mrs. Wilson. <br />The board heard a report from Parks and Recreation Director John Payne <br />concerning the tennis courts at Dalrymple Park. Mr. Payne told the board that the <br />facilities committee of the Lee County Parks and Recreation Commission had met and <br />discussed the status and possible options for the tennis courts. The next regular meeting <br />of the full Parks and Recreation Commission will be held on August 27, 2001, at which <br />time this matter will be discussed. After some discussion, the board agreed to defer <br />consideration on this matter until the next meeting on September 4, 2001, which will give <br />the Parks and Recreation Commission time to make a recommendation to the Board of <br />Commissioners. <br />The board considered matters relating to the Planning Department. Community <br />Development Director Ron Satterfield asked that the board schedule a public hearing for <br />September 17, 2001, at 7:00 p.m. to consider an amendment to the Lee County Zoning <br />Ordinance as it relates to rezoning requests for special uses and variances. Chairman <br />Hincks moved that a public hearing be scheduled for September 17, 2001 for the above <br />purpose.
