ECOX 1$ P-CE 5-49 <br />MINUTES FROM THE REGULAR MEETING <br />OF THE <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />FOR THE <br />COUNTY OF LEE, STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA <br />SEP'T'EMBER a, 2001 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the County of Lee, State <br />of North Carolina, convened at 8:00 a.m. in the Commissioners' Room, Lee County <br />Government Center, 106 Hillcrest Drive, Sanford, North Carolina. Commissioner's <br />present were W. Chad Adams, Herbert A. Hincks, Jerry M. Lemmond, Nathan E. <br />Paschal, and John I. Sallls. Commissioner's Bertha L. Matthews and Robert T. Reives <br />were absent. <br />J <br />Chairman Hincks presided and the following business was transacted. <br />County Attorney K. R. Hoyle delivered the invocation. <br />John Payne led the pledge of allegiance. <br />The board considered additional agenda items. Commissioner Lemmond moved <br />to approve the agenda as printed. Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Hincks, Lemmond, Paschal, and Sauls <br />Nay: None <br />Absent: Matthews and Reives <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Commissioner Adams moved to approve the consent agenda, which consisted of <br />the following items: <br />• Minutes of the August 20, 2001 regular meeting <br />• Minutes of the August 20, 2001 closed session <br />• Proclamation to proclaim September 17-30, 2001 as LITTER SWEEP in Lee <br />County (copy attached) <br />• Approval to begin foreclosure proceedings on 1999 delinquent real estate <br />taxes (copy attached) <br />• Tax Releases and Refunds for July 2001 (copy attached) <br />• Approval to accept Local Law Enforcement Block Grant funds in the amount <br />of S 17,053 to purchase equipment/supplies for the Sheriff's Office <br />
